Default Welcome Billy D

Is Billy Donovan bring the Magic back to the success they had during the Shaq/Penny days or will he bust like so many of the former college champions

I always wonder about college basketball coaches making the jump to the NCAA. I think Donovan will be OK. I'm not sure he will be special. He does have a good core of players to build on. As a Florida State fan, I am relieved he is gone. Now if we can just get Urban Meyer to go to the NFL, maybe we can have a chance in this state again!

Well he's lucky he's got a young team. And if the "old" millionaires don't want to listen to him, they can always be put on the trading block. No question though that he is entering a completely new world right now

Just read that also..... I guess that it going to go down as one of the biggest "Ooops....my bad" in coaching history. Lets see how this unfolds, but my own opinion - he's better staying a Gator.

Oh well, more butt kickings at the hands of the Gators. WTF was he thinking? I wish I was in a position to take or leave a $27.5 mil job. I don't understand what kind of character flaw it takes to sign such a large contract and then say "I changed my mind." What about the 200 new season tickets the Magic sold? I would hope they will let those people out of their commitments too.

Really? Already 200 new season ticket holders? Well I guess that is why they signed him. If I was living in Orlando, I wouldn't have been so quick to jump on the bus.

The Sporting News made a list of conditions the Magic should insist upon when releasing Donovan from his contract.
I liked conditio n#4 the best: Make him stand under the basket and draw 10 successive charges from Shaq....or even better - call Oliver Miller out of retirement.
