VERO BEACH, Fla. -- The Dodgers resolved two roster issues on Monday, trading reliever Elmer Dessens to the Milwaukee Brewers for outfielder Brady Clark and cash considerations. The right-handed Dessens, acquired from Kansas City in the Odalis Perez trade last season, was about to lose his bullpen spot to non-roster invitee Rudy Seanez. Clark, 34 next month, essentially replaces the injured Jason Repko as the fourth outfielder and takes away a spot that might have gone to left-handed hitters James Loney or Larry Bigbie, although each still could make the Opening Day roster.

I like this trade for the Dodgers, Elmer Dessens is an alright pitcher and he is very inconsistent. We get a good OF in Brady Clark who can play LF, CF, and RF. He's that extra right handed bat we need off the bench. Plus he is a key addition if we face injuries with the Outfielders, although we could potentially have Larry Bigbie, Matt Kemp, and/or Loney out there.
Another good pick up by Mr. Colletti
