We can't imagine the Marlins wanted Julio unless it was to close. He can't be trusted to come into games with men on base, so the ninth inning is the best situation for him. Still, he won't be any sort of lock to close all year long. With ERAs of 4.57, 5.90 and 4.23 the last three years, Julio has pretty firmly established himself as a below average reliever. He'll probably have a couple of good months for the Marlins, but when all is said and done, the team could realize it would have been better off without him.

Nice trade for the Marlins. He can be a mentor to the young reliever Taylor Tankersley. This kid is a stud and will have a big career as a reliever. He's most likely one of the young players their reluctant to trade. He is going to be their closer for along time after Julio is gone.

Marlins will have a dynasty come 5 years. Mark my word

If you have any sense of baseball history the past 10 years you will realize that guaranteeing there will ever be a Florida Marlins "dynasty" is definently going out on a limb. They are building a great team that could see playoff success as early as 08, however they always end up trading players away and starting over because they can't afford people. Yes they need to get the hell out of Miami

ps- Julio isn't exactly a pitcher I'd consider a "mentor"

That have a lot of talent already, they really haven't traded anyone but when they do trade it will probably be at the deadline.

They'll trade Dontrelle Willis most likely. Cabrera will pop up but that'll be speculation. They won't trade him and who in the hell would?

Potential Suitors for Willis: Dodgers, Mets, D-Backs few others.

I'm not talking about them trading a Willis or Cabrera this year; I'm just saying that once they have some success you're gonna see some trades, it the Florida Marlins' cycle
